Introduction

At CatchUp Now, we believe that an intelligent daily assistant shouldn't come at the cost of your privacy. Because our app inherently requires access to deeply personal data—such as your notifications, calls, and calendar—we have built our architecture around strict local-first processing and absolute transparency.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how it is used, and the steps we take to ensure your data remains secure and under your control.
Information We Collect
CatchUp Now does not create an account for you on our servers. The app relies entirely on Android system permissions to function. We request access to the following:
- Notifications: To read incoming messages, emails, and system alerts to generate actionable tasks and summaries.
- Call Logs & Contacts: To identify missed calls from known contacts and schedule reminders for you to call them back.
- Calendar Events: To sync with your daily agenda and display an organized schedule.
- Precise Location (GPS): To provide hyper-local weather updates and commute traffic estimations.
How We Use Your Data
Your data is strictly used to power the features of the CatchUp Now app on your specific device. We use this information to:
- Curate a personalized daily briefing dashboard.
- Automatically sync actionable tasks to your connected provider (Google Tasks, Samsung Reminder, Microsoft To-Do).
- Provide conversational AI responses through the Gemini Chatbot regarding your recent digital activity.
Zero Data Selling Policy: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data, notification history, or location data to advertisers, data brokers, or any third parties. Period.
Local vs. Cloud Processing
To balance high-end AI capabilities with privacy, CatchUp Now utilizes a hybrid architecture:
Local-First Filtering
Over 90% of data processing happens directly on your smartphone. Spam detection, notification grouping, and basic context triggers are all processed locally. This data never leaves your device.
Anonymized Cloud Processing
For complex tasks (like summarizing a long WhatsApp thread or generating an email draft), CatchUp Now securely queries the Google Gemini 2.5 Flash API. Before data is transmitted, it undergoes an anonymization pass (e.g., swapping out full phone numbers). This data is transmitted securely via HTTPS and is not retained by us after the query is completed.
Third-Party Services
CatchUp Now acts as a bridge between your data and the services you already trust. Depending on your configuration, the app interacts with:
- Google API Services: If you connect Google Tasks or Google Calendar.
- Microsoft Graph API: If you connect Microsoft To-Do.
- Samsung SDKs: If you connect Samsung Reminder.
Usage of these services is governed by their respective Privacy Policies. CatchUp Now only interacts with these APIs to read and write the specific tasks or events you authorize.
Data Retention & Deletion
Because CatchUp Now is a client-side application, the majority of your data is stored directly within the Android OS environments (like your phone's notification log or calendar storage).
Any temporary cache generated by CatchUp Now (such as recent AI summaries) can be immediately wiped by navigating to your device's Settings > Apps > CatchUp Now > Storage > Clear Data. Uninstalling the app completely removes all associated application data from your device.
Your Rights & Controls
You have total control over what CatchUp Now can see and do. You can:
- Revoke Notification access at any time via Android Settings.
- Toggle specific integrations (e.g., turn off Call Log scanning) directly within the app's internal settings.
- Disconnect your Google or Microsoft accounts directly from the app or via the respective security portals of those providers.
